From 3 countries to 42
in nine months.
Nordic Labs builds developer tools used by over 80,000 engineers worldwide. When they decided to expand globally, they needed to bill in every major currency — without rebuilding their billing stack.
The challenge
Before MondialPay, Nordic Labs was using a patchwork of regional processors stitched together by a fragile in-house billing service. Every new country meant a new integration, a new compliance review, and weeks of engineering time their team didn't have.
"Our billing code was the largest single module in the codebase, and nobody wanted to touch it," said Elena Moreno, Nordic Labs' Head of Infrastructure. "Every expansion felt like a six-month project."
Why MondialPay
Nordic Labs picked MondialPay for three reasons: the unified API meant they didn't need per-country integrations, the built-in dunning recovered revenue they didn't know they were losing, and the usage-based billing engine supported their pricing model without custom code.
The outcome
In nine months, Nordic Labs went from billing in three countries to 42. Their engineering team didn't grow — they redeployed the two people who used to maintain billing into product work. Monthly recurring revenue grew 156% year-over-year, and the dunning engine alone recovered nearly 7% of MRR that used to silently churn.
"We used to measure expansion in quarters. Now we measure it in weeks. MondialPay didn't just replace our billing — it changed how we think about what's possible."
What they use
Nordic Labs uses MondialPay's Payment Gateway, Multi-Currency Accounts, SaaS billing engine, and Tax Automation across their entire stack.
